The Oliveira do Bairro City Council (CMOLB) and the IEC Education and Citizenship Institute organize the Oliveira do Bairro Science Festival to boost the insertion of Science in the Education, Health, Environment and General Culture.

 

This event, which stems from the responsibility assumed by CMOLB, as a European Municipality of Scientific Culture, involves educational institutions, autarchy, companies, associations, research institutes of Universities, centers of Ciência Viva, and the population in general, with particular emphasis on school population in the region.

The Science Festival promotes the sharing of fluid communication between different areas of Science and their applications.

 

IEC and CMOLB provide non-formal teaching of Experimental Sciences in schools in the region with the participation of Research Institutes, Universities and Biocant. The synergy between these institutions strengthens the municipality's capacity to assume increased responsibilities in Education.

The Science Festival already has four editions (2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018).
